TECHNIQUES FOR NUCLEAR SHIELDING CALCULATIONS

Abstract

Reviews and critiques of selected methods for nuclear shielding calculations are presented. Those techniques considered are numerical integration of the Boltzmann equation, moments method, Monte C METHOD OF SUCCESSIVE SCATTERINGS, AND REMOVAL CROSS-SECTION METHOD. An outline of the advantages and disadvantages of each particular method is included, along with a new simplified calculation procedure.
