THE DYNAMICS OF DISCONTINUITY SURFACES IN GENERAL RELATIVITY THEORY

Abstract

A system of necessary conditions is obtained for the existence of solutions of the Einstein field equations in the presence of jumps on sigma. These conditions are shown to be expressible in terms of surface tensors and surface tensorial differential systems.
