ROTATION DESIGNS FOR SAMPLING ON REPEATED OCCASIONS

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to develop a unified finite population theory for composite estimators. A general rotation pattern is formulated and the variance of the composite estimators explicined. The optimum values of Q are ob tained under certain simplifying assumptions regarding the correlation pattern from occasion to occasion. The variance for the particular rotation pattern used by Hansen et al. can be obtained as a special case from the general results.
