A SIMPLE METHOD FOR DESIGNING AN ELLIPTICAL POLARIZER IN SQUARE WAVEGUIDE

Abstract

This paper shows a procedure that was used to find the differential phase shift between the two orthogonal modes that synthesize an elliptically polarized wave in a modified square waveguide by deriving simple algebraic expressions for the cut-off wavelengths of the two modes. The results achieved indicate that the approximations caused less than 1.5% error over the applicable range of interest.
