ESTIMATES OF ERRORS IN MISTRAM DUE TO ATMOSPHERIC REFRACTION

Abstract

The atmosphere causes errors in the measurement of range, range difference, range rate, and range difference rate. The magnitudes of these errors are estimated and found to exceed the maximum allowable errors for Mistram. Refractive index corrections must be applied to the Mistram System to reduce the errors to the same magnitude as the maximum allowable errors.
