OBJECTIVES GUIDE AND PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATIONS FOR TRANSPORTABLE COMMUNICATION FACILITY
Abstract
Part A of this document contains an analysis of requirements for dependable, transportable communication facilities that can be deployed globally during national emergencies and contingencies. It also provides engineering standards and design criteria and recommends research and development in support of such facilities. The design objectives and criteria conform with the requirements for an improvement in the mobility, reliability, and channel capacity of contingency communication facilities. They are presented as guidelines to assist in the realization of both short and long term objectives. Performance criteria believed to be within the present technology are presented in sufficient detail to permit conversion into equipment performance specifications. Part B is a performance specification for a recommended transportable-modular (TRANSMOD) communication complex to fulfill the performance criteria established in Part A. This complex is intended for the Air Force inventory between 1965 and 1970.
