OPTIMUM REDUNDANCY UNDER MULTIPLE CONSTRAINTS

Abstract

Kettelle (1962) presents an algorithm for allocating redundancy so as to maximize system reliability without exceeding a specified cost (or equivalently, achieve a specified reliability at minimum cost). In the present paper we develop an algorithm to solve the more general problem of maximizing system reliability without exceeding any of several linear constraints.
