CALIBRATION OF PC-1000 CAMERAS BY MEANS OF STAR PHOTOGRAPHY

Abstract

Calibration of three PC-1000 cameras was per formed utilizing approximate zenith exposures of stars. The calibration consists of determining the focal length, principal point, and lens distortion of each camera and corresponding estimates of precision derived from a rigorous least squares solution. Field work and data reduction procedures are described. Graphical presentation of lens distortion and a discussion of the results are included.
