FEASIBILITY DETERMINATION OF A NUCLEAR THERMIONIC SPACE POWER PLANT

Abstract

Effort was continued to develop a nuclear thermionic space power plant. Technial work was divided into the following three tasks: (2) liquid metal tubing - converter bond; (3) thermal transport analysis; and (4) series unit loop test. Attention was directed to degradation of converter performance resulting from series operation, the effect of emitter temperature variation on con verter performance, and calculation of micro meteoroid armor requirements.
