A NEW SERIES OF ORGANOBORANES IV. THE PARTICI PATION OF THE 11,12- DICARBADODECABORANE NUCLEUS IN SOME NOVEL HETERATOMIC RING SYSTEMS

Abstract

Various chlorosilylcarborane (Carborane is used in place of the formal name 11,12-dicarbadodeca borane) derivatives were prepared. In subsequent reactions with amines or water a marked pro pensity for the formation of five membered disila azane and disila oxane rings was exhibited. In reactions with dilithiocarborane, novel disilacyclohexane analogs were formed.
