PRESENT AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OF RADIO TELESCOPES

Abstract

Outstanding antenna designs that radio astronomers have developed and are proposing are presented. The antenna requirements in radio astronomy are reviewed and the use of various re flectors, interferometers, and arrays to satisfy these requirements is explained. An appraisal of future developments in the design of radio tele scopes is offered.
