A Literature Survey of Ions in Flames

Abstract

The literature on the ions in flames aspects of combustion in laboratory flames was reviewed. The nature of excess non-equilibrium ionization and rates of ionization are discussed. Rates for positive ion decay are presented as well as the effects of electronegative gases on amounts of ionization, rates of positive ion and electron decay, and rates of electron attachment.
