HEAT TRANSFER IN HYPERSONIC FLOW WITH RADIATION AND CHEMICAL REACTION

Abstract

The effect of radiative transport on the structure of the shock layer produced in front of a hypersonic vehicle in an earthlike atmosphere is studied. Specifically, the effects of radiation on the structure of the boundary layer and the shock wave are determined numerically for the optically thin limits.
