TEST AND EVALUATION OF REHABILITATING AND RETRO FITTING A MODEL 4CK KEARNEY AND TRECKER MILLING MACHINE.

Abstract

Research is presented on the effort to evaluate the desirability of retrofitting numerical con trols to conventional machine tools. Three series of tests were performed. In the first series three typical aircraft parts were to be fabricated in accordance with normal aircraft parts standards. In the second series the machine tool was to perform a number of cutting operations. In the third series the machine tool was checked for alignment. Cutting and alignment tests were drafted.
