W2SD-18 - STRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT TEST CASE M215.02.

Abstract

Structural development test was conducted to determine the structural integrity of the Wing II, M-57E1 rocket motor case when subjected to flight load conditions of axial load, shear load, and bending moment conducted at room temperature environment. Case M215.02 failed under the combined effects of an axial load of 65.5 kips, a shear load of 6.5 kips, and a bending moment of 1194. 3 in.-kips.
