DEVELOPMENT OF LOW-NOISE TRAVELING-WAVE TUBES

Abstract

Efforts were continued on the design and development of L-band low- noise traveling-wave tubes. The helix impedance transformer was designed, and calculations predict a very good match from 1 to 2.6 Gc. The initial PPM-focusing considerations indicate that it will be possible to focus a tube with a helix of 250 volts.
