LUMINESCENT MICROSCOPY STUDY OF TISSUE CULTURE CELLS DURING THE INITIAL PHASE OF THEIR INTER ACTION WITH SENDAI VIRUS,

Abstract

An investigation was made of the changes in cellular lipids by means of phosphine 3R, for the elicitation of cellular lipids, with the exceptifatty acids, soaps, and cholesterol. The simultaneous change in cellular nucleic acids upon infection with the virus were determined by means of acridine orange which possesses marked affinity with nucleic acids, enters energetically into bonds with them and permits the elicitation of the nature of RNA and DNA distribution within the cell.
