PROCEEDINGS OF THE SYMPOSIUM ON OPERATIONS RESEARCH AT SDC: PART I, HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE,

Abstract

Past activities of System Development Corporation in operations research are examined. Corporate activities have expanded from work on air defense to the planning, design, and implementation of information processing and control systems for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Department of Defense, Veterans Administration, and many other agencies. The studies in this history range from research on theoretical techniques conducted in the Research Directorate to the use of applied mathematics and other techniques in the line departments.
