Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analytically de termine the optimized design parameters for a brushless 700 ampere, direct current generation system for a military battle tank. The basic system studied consisted of a brushless, oil cooled alternator, a rectifier network to convert the alternator output to direct current, an oil pump to provide and necessary cooling oil flow for the alternator-rectifier combination, and a voltage regulator to regulate the output voltage of the alternator-rectifier.
