STUB TUNER IMPEDANCE MATCHING IN A HELIUM CRYOSTAT,

Abstract

When UHF or microwave cavities in coaxial systems are operated in a helium cryostat long co-axial cables have to be employed for coupling the RF energy into and out of the cavity. Optimum coupl ing to the cavity can only be achieved by correct impedance matching between the co-axial cables and the cavity. The matching difficulty has been overcome in this laboratory by designing and constructing a right angle stub tuner which can be operated in liquid helium. (Author)
