WAVE FRONT SOLUTIONS IN LINEAR AND NONLINEAR MEIA,

Abstract

A study was made of plane, cylindrical and spherical wave fronts in linear and nonlinear media caused by either a constant velocity or constant pressure impact condition. The classi cal wave equations were analyzed and stress times area times velocity (SAV) was found to be constant at the wave front. This allowed re ducing the wave front solutions to simple alge bra. Strain gage measurements were used to verify the theory. (Author)
