FEASIBILITY DEMONSTRATION OF A ROTARY REGENERATOR FOR AIRCRAFT GAS TURBINES.

Abstract

The feasibility study conducted was concerned with constructing and testing a toroidal rotary regenerator for aircraft gas turbine engines. The feasibility of the toroidal regenerator was demonstrated. This configuration, with addi tional refinements, can be developed to give a heat exchanger with the compact size, low weight, high effectiveness and low leakage which has been estimated for this unit.
