FEASIBILITY DEMONSTRATION OF A ROTARY REGENERATOR FOR AIRCRAFT GAS TURBINES,

Abstract

The feasibility of a rotary regenerator for an aircraft gas turbine is reported. Testing demonstrated an improvement in regenerator per formance with the result that effectiveness goals have been realized. In addition, component rig tests of seals have shown that the leakage goals can be reached with minor modification of the ring seal liner support. (Author)
