PRIMARY RESONANT OSCILLATIONS OF A CONSERVATIVE SYSTEM WITH TWO DEGREES OF FREEDOM.

Abstract

The free oscillations of an idealized system consisting of two masses each anchored by a nonlinear spring and coupled by a nonlinear spring are analyzed. The springs aare assumed to be of Duffing type, that each mass possessing a single degree of freedom of translation, and that the translations of the masses are collinear. (Author)
