ANALYSIS OF PULSED X-RADIATION GENERTEY HIGH POWERED ELCRONIC EQUIPMENT.
Abstract
A scintillation spectrometer was tested for its ability to measure the spectra of pulsed x-radia tion. It was found to be a useful instrument for the measurement of the spatial energy distribution of x-rays generated by high-powered electronic equipment. A theoretical study was conducted in an attempt to obtain a means of predicting the spatial energy distribution of x-rays generated by electrons with energi13tween 10 KV and 500 KV incident on a thick copper target. At eastqualitative agreement was obtained between the theoretical and expermental results for x-rays generated by electrons with energies p t 7.7 KV Differentx-ray detectors were tested for their response to pulsedx-raysand R.F. radia-tion. .M. coutrs were found useful only for the measurement of pulsed x-rays of low peakin tnsity, but were unaffected by .F. radiation.
