TRANSIENT RADIATION EFFECTS IN COAXIAL CABLES DUE TO GAMMA-NEUTRON RADIATION PU

Abstract

Geometry tests have been performed on RG-59B/U and RG-174/U coaxial cables at the Kukla pulsed reactor. It has been observed that the radiation-induced current from center conductor to grounded shield is described by a formula which is given. The responsible mechanisms are Compton scattering, ion pair generation, and secondary emission. (Author)
