ON CONDITIONS OF RADIO COMMUNICATION IN HIGH AND MIDDLE LATITUDES,

Abstract

A study was made of radio communication condi tions in high and middle latitudes as a function of the state of the ionosphere. Prolonged com munication breakdowns have been observed during strong magneto-ionospheric distur. Break downs in communication were observed on long radio links even when the ionosphere was in a quiet state. The possibilities for radio com munication at high frequencies through reflection of radio waves from the sporadic E sub s layer. (Author)
