SELF-DECOMPOSITION OF C14-LABELLED ORGANIC COM POUNDS. A REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE,

Abstract

The literature on the self-decomposition of C-14-labeled organic compounds was reviewed. Factors causing self-decomposition and methods of reducing or minimizing this effect are dis cussed. Equations are given for calculating absorbed dose, percent decomposition, and G-values. All data have been recalculated on a common basis so that they may be compared. In general, no attempt has been made to consider the behavior of the various compounds when subjected to different forms of external radia tion, as this has been adequately covered in other reviews.
