Abstract

Cities not only will endure, they will expand, and so will the problems of moving people and goods within and between them. Today I should like to examine the growth of cities in threee dimensions: facts - how have cities changed since World War II; future - what forecasts can we make concerning the character of cities a decade or two hence.
