DEVELOPMENT OF SIX REPAIR PROCEDURES FOR THE XM5 HAWK GUIDED MISSILE SYSTEM WARHEAD,

Abstract

Studies were conducted to develop repair proce dures to correct six problems which arose ddeployment of XM5 Hawk Guided Missile System warheads at various field installations. The six problems were: (1) Water leaking into the safety and arming (S+A) cavity and S+A device receptacle wells, (2) loose discs in the S+A liner seat, (3) loose S+A device mounting inserts, (4) loose warhead mounting inserts, (5) cracked warhead mounting lugs, and (6) cracked S+A liners.
