A METHOD OF OBTAINING AND ANALYZING DIGITAL ERROR PATTERNS,
Abstract
A method is described for obtaining error pattern statistics on dependent digital communications channels. Using this method, experiments were made on a tropospheric scatter channel. The error statistics gathered are further analyzed to indicate the improvement possible on this channel by using a burst-error correction code. Curves are presented showing this improvement as a function of reduced information rate and digit block length. (Author)
