Abstract

This report summarizes studies on rapid and simple post-thaw separation procedures for the removal of PVP and hemoglobin from red cells; to improve the stability of red cells frozen and thawed in the presence of PVP; to obtain critical information on the clearance of PVP after infu sion; and to search for additives that might be superior to PVP.
