THE EFFECT OF RADIATION REFLECTED FROM THE CEILING ON THE DOSE RATE WITHIN STRUCTURES,

Abstract

An experiment was designed to estimate the effect of ceiling-scattered radiation on the dose rate within a structure. Measurements of the contri butions as a function of the solid angle sub tended by the ceiling as viewed from a detector are compared to results calculated using albedo data. The total magnitude of ceiling-shine radiation is found to be similar to that of skyshine radiation. (Author)
