ON THE PROBLEM OF TRANSVERSE INSTABILITY OF CHARGED BEAMS IN STORAGE SYSTEMS,

Abstract

Certain transverse effects of a space charge in cyclic systems are investigated. A beam is ex amined in which the particles perform nonlinear oscillations with the same energy. The field of the formed positive density fluctuations accel erates the particles moving in front of the fluctuations and slows down the particles lo cated behind it. (Author)
