INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECTS OF ULTRASONICS ON THE DEFORMATION CHARACTERISTICS OF METALS.

Abstract

The effect of ultc radiation on the behaviour of zinc crystals in static tensile tests are presented. The hardening through irradiation with ultrasonics of high energies, discovered by Langenecker, is being examined under a variety of experimental conditions. Increase of intensity and duration of irradiation brought stronger hardening. Straining previous to irradiation, decreases the hardening effect. (Author)
