Abstract

The stresses, strains, and displacements in the poker chip test specimen were found using a finite difference technique which was developed and reported previously. The results are pre sented in dimensionless form as functions of two variables: the ratio of diameter to thickness and Poisson's ratio. A bonded end tensile specimen was also analyzed with the same procedure, and the deviation of the stress distribution from uni-axial tension which occurs near the bonded ends was illustrated.
