RESEARCH IN MAGNETOHYDRODYNAMICS AND ITS ASTROPHYSICAL APPLICATIONS

Abstract

The immediate aims were to study fundamental magnetohydrodynamic behavior and to evolve more efficient methods for solving the atmospheric structure equations. Keeping in mind the long range goals of the project, an effort was made to construct dynamical models for stellar atmospheres and, in particular, dynamical models for transient phenomena in such atmospheres.
