CLASSIFICATION OF SOLAR PROMINENCES FOR SUNSPOT CYCLE NO. 19 -- 1959

Abstract

A tabulation and analysis of the behavior classification of prominences observed during 1959 at the Sacramento Peak Observatory, Sunspot, New Mexico is given. Table I contains the measures of position and area, the intensity estimates, and the classification according to the Menzel and Evans scheme (1953) with the addition of the classes ASa (coronal rain in spot areas) and ANe (suspended clouds not associated with sunspots), of all prominences in the survey.
