THREE-LEVEL MASER MATERIALS: A SURVEY OF POTENTIAL MATERIALS, II

Abstract

Paramagnetic resonance of impurities in natural crystals of calcite (CaCO3) and barite (BaSO4) were investigated. Observed spectra are compared with the theoretical spectra of probable impurities. One spectrum in calcite is identified with Fe(3+). Another is possible due to Cr(3+). No identifiable spectrum was observed in barite.
