RESEARCH IN PHYSICS OF ELECTRON EMISSION AND ELECTRON TUBE TECHNOLOGY.

Abstract

Further experiments on the dependence of secondary yield on the angle of incidence are reported. The energy distribution of electrons transmitted through gold films is described and progress in the th y of the production of secondary electrons is outlined. Studies of thin-film tunnel current diodes and triodes are reported; studies of hot electron injection from an electron beam into such devices are reported. Several experiments relating to BaO, (BaSr)O and BaS cathodes are described. Further results of surface studies of MgO and of the Ge:Na system are given. Some experimental results which help to clarify the bombardment induced desorption of gases from metals are presented. Two experiments on the electron emission from superconductors are described.
