EXAMPLES OF APPLICATIONS OF QUANTITATIVE OPTICAL METHODS TO BASIC AERODYNAMIC RESEARCH (Exemples d'Application des Methodes de Mesures Optiques a des Recherches Fondamentals d'Aerodynamique),

Abstract

The use of quantitative optical methods (inter ferometry, interference strioscopy) in aerody namic research has been investigated in detail by O.N.E.R.A. The purpose of this report is to pre sent the essential features of this work both from the point of view of the apparatus used (the design and development of which are described) and from that of applied research. Some typical results indicate the advantage and the limitations of this particular measuring technique. (Author)
