AN ACCURACY ANALYSIS FOR TWO DIMENSIONAL INTERCEPTIONS OF VEHICLES IN ORBITAL AND SUB-ORBITAL TRAJECTORIES,

Abstract

Two imensional single impulse interceptions of targets at low altitude in a single body gravitational field are analyzed. Simple approximate relations between in-plane RMS miss distance and burnout velocity errors are derived, and the effectiveness of guidance system improvements is discussed on the basis of these approximations.
