THE OPTIMAL STRATEGIES IN SOME SIMPLE FUNGUS EATER GAMES,

Abstract

Fungus-eater games yield a class of sequential decision tasks which involve both means objects and end objects in a not-too-unrealistic fashion. Study of human strategies and of the optimal strategies in these games may improve our under standing of complex decision tasks. The optimal strategies for the three simplest fungus-eater games are derived and the behavior of humans playing these games is reported. (Author)
