Abstract

Environmental factors constituting the space en vironment between 300 and 22,000 n.mi. altitude are discussed and defined. These factors are ionizing particle radiation (including Van Allen, solar flare, and primary cosmic radiation), elec tromagnetic radiation (from both earth and sun), temperature and pressure in the exosphere, and meteoroids (both asteroidal and cometary).
