PRECIPITATION OF ENERGETIC ELECTRONS INTO THE ATMOSPHERE,

Abstract

A research study performed to investigate the feasibility of space station crew rescue by the non-reentry rescue module concept is reported. Possible non-reentry and reentry rescue con cepts, including the return to earth phase, are evaluated with respect to space station rescue requirements and operational and cost considera-s. The influence of rescue module size and arrangement is also considered. Pre liminary design criteria are also developed for the optimum non-reentry rescue concepts. (Author)
