A SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC STUDY OF SOLAR PROMINENCES,

Abstract

The study is based mainly on spectrograms of prominences obtained with an Echelle-spectro graph, which permits simultaneous photography of the whole visible and a large part of the ultra violet spectrum on one and the same plate, with high dispersion and resolving power. The spectrograms of 10 prominences are reduced and profiles of 209 emission lines obtained. The half-widths, central intensities, equivalent widths and some other characteristics are deter mined.
