THE EFFECT OF RANDOM LOADING ON CREEP DE FORMATION IN A NON-LINEAR METAL.

Abstract

This report deals with a numerical analysis of the creep deformation in non-linear metals under random loading. The results of these calcu lations show that for a non-linear material a constant mean stress cannot be used as an equiva lent of a random stress sequence. The creep deformation strongly depends on the type of distribution and the variance of a random stress, and it is always larger than that obtained for the constant mean value of stress. (Author)
