SERVO ANALYSIS OF AN INERTIAL PLATFORM,

Abstract

A series of servo analysis techniques for a three-axis, inertially stabilized platform is described. The methods used are not onlyy applicable to the specific system described but are adaptable for any system employing an inertial reference device. Both theoretical and practical programs for a variety of inertial systems were devised. It was concluded that the techniques described herein produce a more valid analysis of an inertial platform system than any presented previously. Analysis methods used were Bode, root locus, closed loop frequency response an an analog computer simulation. Each method has its merits in a restricted area; however, the combination of methods used here has proven more successful than any single evaluation technique. (Author)
