REPORT OF FOREIGN VISIT TO UNITED KINGDOM, 22 26 JULY 1963,

Abstract

The differential elastic scattering of electrons by argon gas has been investigated in the energy range 75 to 500 eV at angles of 4 to 160 degrees. The inelastic scattering has also been investi gated at angles of 4 to 10 degrees from the forward direction. Electron energies measured by the retarding field method were differentiated and corrected for energy spread of the incident beam by an optimized method. Results are com pared with other measurements and with recent calculations. (Author)
