EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES IN NUCLEAR PHYSICS.

Abstract

Research activities and accomplishments are reported in two major sections. The first deals with the scientific accomplishments, and is necessarily somewhat brief because the cyclotron was out of operation and being remodelled throughout the period of research; it consists of a report of a study of the Mossbauer effect in beta-tin over the temp-ture range from 1.3 to 370 degrees Kelvin, which did not require cyclo tron operation for its continuation and a report of the analysis of differential cross-sections of several (d, alpha) reactions. The second section reports on the progress of the cyclo tron redevelopment program and describes current operations and projections for the near future. (Author)
